Washington DC, June 28th – 2fifty is thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of its highly requested new dining destination in the Mt. Vernon Triangle neighborhood of Washington DC. The new location promises to serve the traditional Texas-style smoked meats Menu with a pinch of the tropics.

Nestled close to downtown at 414 K St NW, Washington DC 20001, 2fifty DC aims to continue to be fueling the passion for all-wood smoked meats. The menu will showcase a mouthwatering selection of slow-cooked Wagyu and Prime brisket, tender ribs, buttery turkey, juicy in-house-made sausages, and other delectable smoked delicacies. All of our proteins will continue to be ethically sourced and prepared with the utmost care and expertise.

Having had years of intense research and training, Debby and Fernando will continue to serve a traditional Texas-style BBQ menu alongside their rotating specials like Barbecue Pupusas, Pastrami Beef Ribs, Smoked Duck and others. Drawing inspiration from the owners’ Latin American roots, diners will be invited to embrace gastronomic diversity and try their creative and bold sides.

"We are delighted to bring the low-and-slow culture in a full restaurant experience with 2fifty DC" shared Debby Portillo González, CEO of 2fifty. "Our dedicated team has poured their passion into the concept we wanted to have for our location in Riverdale Park, had the Pandemic not gotten in the way. It will be first come first serve, very reminiscent of barbecue joints that sell until sold out. The line will start with the cutter and we will not have online or phone orders. We believe we found the location that will allow for that to happen”.

To ensure an extraordinary dining experience, 2fifty has assembled a team of highly skilled culinary professionals led by the esteemed and award-winning Pitmaster, Fernando González. For the big guns of this project, González is trusting the manufacturing of two custom-made one-thousand-gallon smokers to Mill Scale Metalworks. That means 2fifty will be towing them all the way from Lockhart, TX. Mill Scale has been manufacturing smokers to some of the Top BBQ joints in Texas and DC will be now able to have them too. “Handcrafted barbecue is very complex to achieve but it should be easy to enjoy, and that’s what we are aiming for,” said Gonzalez.
